Last week, from 4th to 9th December 2023, the Halfpipe World Cup 23/24 Season kicked off in Genting Resort, Secret Garden in China. The Olympics 2022 Halfpipe venue was a perfect location for this event and was shaped by Ali Zehetner, one of the best Halfpipe shapers in the world.

China was Moritz second World Cup trip and third World Cup start, after his debut at the double World Cup in Calgary in January 2023. In China, he finished in 18th position, marking his personal best World Cup result and finishing in the Top 20 for the first time ever.

Together with his coach, Isabelle Hanssen, Moritz worked towards his competition run the whole last winter season and put it together in competition for the first time in China.

Isabelle states: "Overall it was a great experience for Moritz. Secret Garden has a challenging Halfpipe and it takes some time to figure it out and we made it work.

By the time it was qualifiers Moritz was boosting and able to put down his safe run. A great experience and a great start to the season. We are very excited to work on a few things and get ready for Mammoth WorldCup in January/February."
